Oak Brook's reputation as a high-end community built around the vision of Paul Butler is well founded. With nationally known Oak Brook Shopping Center as the hub, the community fills out with a series of separate, very high-end sub communities. (Subdivision would be misleading.) These residential communities, some gated, provide the site of some of Chicagolands most opulent residences. Pricing ranges from $450,000 to over $2,000,000.

Coupled with headquartered company offices of some of America's Fortune 500, Oak Brooks housing taxes are proportionately among the lowest. Oak Brook is internationally known for its polo grounds and sports core. Equally well known is the Butler national golf course. Burr Ridge provides a different atmosphere for its elegant homes. Many of these homes are situated upon half to one-acre parcels. Burr Ridge takes on the estate country feel with the towns symbol that of the Oak Leaf, for its many trees. Burr Ridge provides privacy at a slower pace. Deer prancing through its subdivisions is not an unusual site.

Both of these communities have excellent elementary schools and they utilize other community high schools including Hinsdale Central, Hinsdale South and Downers Grove North.
